Occasionally you might want to add or modify a liquid class according to your needs. Thus, a Create New button has been added to the Liquid Classes menu. The Create New wizard enables you to create new settings for your liquid class or modify the existing settings, and copy them to your new liquid class. The settings that can be modified from the Liquid Classes menu are as follows:
Wash cycles determines the number of times a chip or an input should be washed.
Delay time determines the amount of delay (in milliseconds) when opening and closing the diaphragm while performing a reagent dispense, prime, or wash process.
Pressure vacuum regulator determines the amount of pressure and vacuum needed for dispense, prime, wash, and recovery processes.
Go to the Tools menu, and select Liquid Classes.
Click the Create New button.
In the Liquid Class Name box, type the name of your liquid class.
Select one of the available options from the Copy Values From list. The value of each setting in the liquid class you have selected will be copied to your new liquid class settings.
If you do not want to modify the values:
Clear the Modify Liquid Class Values check box.
Then, click Finish and click Yes. Congratulations! Your new liquid class has been created.
If you want to modify the values:
Select the Modify Liquid Class Values check box, and click Next. Modify the Wash Chip Cycles and Wash Input Cycles values in the Wash Cycles option in the New Liquid Class window.
When you have finished, click Next.
Select the chip type from the Chip Type list.
Modify the dispense, prime chip and input, wash delay time, and pressure vacuum regulator values.
Repeat steps C and D to modify the other chip types.
If you have finished, click Finish and then click Yes. Congratulations! Your new liquid class has been created.
