Maintenance

MANTIS is a low-maintenance liquid dispenser. Proper care and preventative maintenance involves running a wash cycle on the chips at the end of each dispense session, or between reagents if you are changing reagents but wish to use the same chip. For instructions, see Cleaning the Chips.

You may also want to sterilize the chips if:

For instructions about how to properly sterilize MANTIS chips, see Sterilizing MANTIS Chips.

After a certain period of inactivity, typically around two weeks or more, MANTIS may need to be exercised prior to use for maximum dispense performance. For instructions, see Starting Up the MANTIS after an Extended Period of Inactivity.

To ensure the dispense volume accuracy of the MANTIS chips, you can perform the dispense accuracy test at any time as needed before the chip lifetime expires. For instructions, see Testing MANTIS Chip Dispense Accuracy.

Tuning the wash station is necessarily performed mostly by the support team on rare occasions, such as wash issues on all chips. For instructions, see Tuning the MANTIS Wash Station.
