ROCK IMAGERs 1000, 182, and 54 are equipped with error detection sensors that detect when certain critical events occur requiring user intervention.
When one of these events is detected, the system immediately halts so that the situation can be remedied.
There are three kinds of sensors:
Plate-presence sensor: Both of the robot hands in ROCK IMAGER have a plate-presence sensor, which detects the presence of a plate on the hand. The purpose of these sensors is to notify the system when a plate is about to fall off or has already fallen off the hand.
Contact sensor: ROCK IMAGER detects when the robot hands come into contact with the hotels. In this case the system is halted. This contact-sensing ability is also used during system calibration. During calibration, the robot hand touches various places inside the system to map out the locations of the storage hotels.
Crash sensor: A crash sensor located on each robot hand detects and alerts you when the arm collides with something. If this sensor is activated, the system is halted.
Important: These sensors should not fire during normal operation of the imager. Please contact FORMULATRIX support if a sensor error occurs.
