Upgrading the TEMPEST Software

Prerequisites

• You have closed your current TEMPEST software.
• You have a software license for TEMPEST.
• You have an older version of TEMPEST installed.
• You have downloaded the latest TEMPEST installer.

Note: You can check for updates at any time by going to the Help menu, and clicking Check for Updates.

• You have enough storage space in your installation directory.

To upgrade the TEMPEST software:

1. Locate the latest TEMPEST installer on your computer.

2. Double-click the installer and select Yes on the launcher to run the installer.

   Important: If some intermittent messages appear after you double-click the TEMPEST installer, click OK to close the messages, or click Yes in the TEMPEST setup confirmation window to quit the TEMPEST installation setup. Then, restart the installation process by repeating step 1.

3. When the TEMPEST Setup wizard, click Next to proceed.

4. In the Installation Type section, select Upgrade Existing TEMPEST® Installation. Then, click Next.

5. In the Upgrade Destination section, choose from the following options.

   • Select the TEMPEST installation that you want to upgrade, and click Next to continue.

   • Select the Destination Folder option to specify the installation location of your preference. Choose the location from the Browse For Folder window by clicking the Browse button . Click OK to confirm the selected location, and then click Next to proceed.

   Note: The software installation is normally located on the TEMPEST USB drive, though the software can be installed directly on a PC hard drive.

6. TEMPEST will automatically check the storage availability in the selected installation directory. Please wait until the next page appears, as this may take several minutes.

7. At this point, TEMPEST will display the storage space information at the bottom left of the wizard. Click Next to proceed.

8. After the destination folder selection is successfully completed, TEMPEST will check any open or missing source files for several minutes in the installation directory.

9. Click Yes on the pop-up dialog to continue.

10. A summary of the installation information will be displayed in the Confirmation Installation section. Click Install.

11. Please wait while the TEMPEST software update is installed. Click Next when the installation is completed.

12. Click Finish to close the installation wizard and run the TEMPEST software automatically.
