Note: It is recommended that the Sequence Editor be used only by advanced TEMPEST users.
Follow the instructions below to add a new sequence and/or modify an existing sequence in the Sequence Editor window.

Opening the Sequence Editor
OPTIONAL: Click the Add New Sequence
button to clear the previous sequence from the Sequence Item Table.
Add the sequence items based on your needs:
Click the Add Item button
, and select Valve. The valve state will automatically appear in the Sequence Item Table. Change the valve configuration by opening (green) and closing (red) the valves by clicking on the desired area in the Valve Control Panel. Click Write State
to apply the GUI valve state to the selected Valve sequence item.
From the Valve Control Panel, manually open (green) and close (red) valves by clicking on the desired area. Click the Add Item button
and select Valve. The predefined valve state sequence will be transferred over to the Sequence Item Table.
Select Move from the Add Item button
.
Absolute — move the TEMPEST Plate Stage to the defined X, Y, and Z axis coordinates.
Relative — move the TEMPEST Plate Holder along the determined values based on dX, dY, and dZ axis values.

Selecting Movement Type
OPTIONAL: Click Copy Position to duplicate the current position to each axis field in the Active Axis section.
Configure the X/dX, Y/dY, and Z/dZ coordinates from the Active Axis section by selecting the appropriate check box and entering a value.
Click OK to save the changes and close the Move Sequence Item window.
Select Label from the Add Item button
.
In the Label Sequence Item window, enter the label name.

Select Go To from the Add Item button
.
In the Go To Sequence Item window, select from a list of available labels.

Note: This option is available only when the Plate Stacker feature is active.
Select Stacker Latch from the Add Item button
.
Define the plate stacker latch position by selecting PlateStackerLatch1 (left) or PlateStackerLatch2 (right) from the Stacker Latch selector.
Set the plate stacker latch to Off (closed) or On (open) state from the Stacker State option. Off state means the latch will hold the plate in the stacker, and On means the latch will release the plate(s).
OPTIONAL: Click Test to preview the stacker latch movement.
Click OK to save the setting.

Select the Plate Clamp option from the Add Item button
.
From the Clamp State option, set the plate clamp state by selecting Off (closed) to lock the plate on the plate holder during dispense or On (open) to unlock the plate.
OPTIONAL: Click Test to preview the plate clamp movement.
Click OK.

Select Pressure Control from the Add Item button
.
Select the Pressure Type from the available selections.
Set the period (in milliseconds) for TEMPEST to wait for the target pressure/vacuum value to be reached.
Set the target pressure (in psi) you want TEMPEST to achieve in the Target Pressure field.
OPTIONAL: Select the Ignore Warning option to hide the warning message that informs you if the TEMPEST failed to achieve the target pressure within the delay period. By ignoring the message, TEMPEST will automatically use the current pressure value, which may cause inaccurate dispense result.

Click OK when you’re done.
Select Start Stop Sequencer from the Add Item button

Select Delay from the Add Item button

Set the delay period (in seconds) so that TEMPEST pauses between the sequence items.
OPTIONAL: Select Show Notif to display the delay counter when running the sequence.
Click OK to save the settings.

Select Go To N from the Add Item button
.
In the Go To N Sequence Item window, select a label from those previously defined in the Sequence Item Table.
Define how many times you want the sequence to repeat in the Repeat Sequence field.
Click OK.

Click the Save Sequence
button.
In the Specify Sequence File window, enter the sequence name in the File name field.
Click Save. The sequence file will be automatically saved in the User folder in .seq.txt format.
Run the sequence by clicking the Run Sequence
button. You can pause during the sequence execution or stop the sequence by clicking the Stop button
.
Important: Modifying default sequences in the database may affect the configurations in the TEMPEST system. Please contact FORMULATRIX support for further questions or assistance.
Open the Sequence Editor window from the Tools menu.
Open your custom sequence by clicking the Open Sequence
button.
Locate the sequence file in the User folder or your local directory. Double-click on the selected file or click Open.

Load a dispense list and assign the reagent to the Input Control Panel.
Open the Sequence Editor window from the Tools menu.
.Double-click on the M, SL, PC or S line.
Then, edit the values as needed.
Click OK to save the changes.
Note: To modify the valve state, click on the VS line, then modify the valve states using the GUI. Click the Write State
button to apply the new state.
OPTIONAL: Run the modified sequence by clicking the Run Sequence button
. You can pause during the sequence execution or stop the sequence by clicking the Stop button

Note: During the sequence execution, the blue highlight will move as the commands in the Sequence Editor Table are executed. You can disable this display by setting the Update Sequence Editor During Dispense option to False. For more information, read the Dispense Settings under the Advanced Options section in the Using the Options Menu topic.

Selecting the Sequence Type to Preview
button, and then select the directory in the User folder or the destination of your preference. TEMPEST will not overwrite the previous sequence; the new sequence will be saved as a new file with a new name.
