Reagent List

The MANTIS software stores all of the parameters that determine how reagents are handled in the Reagent List. These parameters include the prime, pre-dispense, recovery, and wash volumes, as well as the liquid class and dispense mode options. You can modify these parameters at any time using the Reagent List dialog box found under the Tools menu. This dialog box has four main panels: Reagent Name, Liquid Class, Dispense Mode, and Chip Type Settings.

Reagent List

Reagent Name Column

The Reagent Name column contains a list of all of the reagents saved to MANTIS. You can add new reagents to this list, as needed. Each reagent listing includes the settings for dispensing that reagent with each type of chip (such as LV, HV, CF, etc.). You can modify the chip type settings, then select the liquid class and dispense mode for each reagent according to your needs. MANTIS will always use the parameters from the reagent list for different dispenses, unless you import your own reagent configuration, which will override the reagent list settings.

Important: You cannot rename a reagent after you have saved it tho the Reagent List.

Liquid Class

These options allow you to select a liquid class for your reagent, based on its viscosity. The liquid classes available in the Liquid Class list are defined in the liquid class menu. You can select 1 cP to dispense any reagents with low viscosity, 2-5 cP for reagents with viscosity up to 5 cP, 6-10 cP for reagents with viscosity between 6 and 10 cP, 11-20 cP for reagents with viscosity between 11 and 20 cP, or select 21-25 cP for reagents with viscosity between 21 and 25 cP.

Dispense Mode

You can configure the small and large diaphragm exchange when executing a dispense, by selecting either the Fast or Precise mode in the Dispense Mode options.

The Fast mode allows MANTIS to switch between the small and large diaphragm to finish the dispense of a reagent to a well before moving onto the next one. The Precise mode allows MANTIS to dispense to all of the wells using the small diaphragm first, then run a pre-dispense process before continuing to dispense the reagent with the large diaphragm. Precise mode ensures greater precision for small volume dispenses, but takes longer to perform than Fast mode.

Chip Type Settings

There are seven chip settings tabs; Low Volume, High Volume, Low Volume PFE, High Volume PFE, Low Volume 3PFE, High Volume 3PFE, and HV Continuous Flow. You can configure the settings for each reagent to be used for future dispenses using each chip type. When you click the Restore Default Values button, MANTIS will restore the reagent settings to their default values.
