Release Notes

Version 4.8.1

Build Date: May 30, 2023

Fixed:
  • [RMI] An issue where the software ignored the screen or solution’s liquid class when the experiment disabled the “should dispense screen” feature.

  • [RMI] An issue where the software set the LV protein tray instead of the HV Multi Protein tray when loading a barcode after starting over an experiment. Previously, the Rockmakerintegration.config default location had been set to HV Multi Protein tray.

Version 4.8.0.114

Build Date: May 12, 2023

Improved:
  • [RMI] The Plate Selection to only show the plate with a specific number of drops based on the loaded experiment.

  • The Humidifier behavior to end the preparation when the humidity has reached the set point or detected an increase. Previously, the Humidifier preparation would wait for the pump timeout before proceeding with the humidity check.

  • The Plate Type Editor to disable the Plate Type, Number of Rows, and Number of Column(s) when creating a new Hanging Drop Plate based on the existing Sitting Drop Plate’s specification.

  • The Power Loss Detection to provide an option to restart the hardware.

  • The software to prevent a similar Hanging Drop Plate from being set for two different Sitting Drop Plates. Previously, the software allowed the user to assign a similar Hanging Drop Plate to another plate by editing an existing Sitting Drop Plate and selecting Save, but it failed when selecting Save As.

  • The software to allow scrolling the Plate Selection content using the mouse.

  • [Auto Calibration] The Auto Calibration to show a warning for the user to check the auto-calibration result of HV Tip Caddy manually. Previously, the result was occasionally incorrect due to the hardware’s unstable position.

Changed:
  • [RMI] The dispense target in ROCK MAKER Integration to follow the Hanging Drop experiment in ROCK MAKER. Previously, the software dispensed on the Well instead of Drop 1.

  • The Plate Type Editor and Plate Type Creator behaviors for the Hanging Drop Plate type.

  • The plate verification on the Plate Type Creator for unavailable dispense target on Plate Stations 2 and 3. Previously, due to hardware’s travel limitations, the software couldn’t dispense on Drops 1 and 2 of the Art Robbins Intelli-plate 24-4 plate on Plate Stations 2 and 3.

Added:
  • Information in the Motion Control pad if the keyboard is active or not. This applies to features like Verify Plate (all stations), Plate Type Editor, and Create New Plate.

  • [Plate Type Editor] A “Create New Hanging Drop Plate” feature on the Hanging Drop Plate dropdown box.

  • [Plate Type Editor] “Delete Well Reservoir” and “Add Well Reservoir” features since the software allows the user to create a Hanging Drop Plate by editing the existing Sitting Drop Plate.

  • A Remove button on the Plate Type Editor wizard to delete the paired Hanging Drop Plate and Sitting Drop Plate. Previously, the only way to remove a Hanging Drop Plate was to delete the plate’s file.

  • An ability to cut, copy, and paste using hotkeys (Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V, and Ctrl+X).

  • An automatic focus on the Plate Selection window when inserting the plate name in the search box.

  • A Barcode History table of dispensed experiment barcodes. Previously, the only way to determine if the barcode had been dispensed was to load it. Then, NT8 would send a notification that the barcode had been dispensed.

Fixed:
  • An issue where the system prevented an LCP dispense task creation with previously used attached plates.

  • The Log file location after upgrading the software in the local installation.

  • [Plate Copy] An issue where the software prompted HV tip ejection despite Plate Copy being disabled.

  • [New Plate Type] An issue where a Deep Well plate was inaccessible after loading an RM experiment that used an undefined Deep Well plate.

  • ROCK MAKER Integration [RMI]
    • An issue where the system allowed the experiments to run without setting up the Protein Block in both software and hardware after barcode loading and checklist marking.

    • An issue where the software loaded the Hanging Drop experiment barcode with an incorrect Hanging Drop Plate definition.

    • An issue where the Plate Selection didn’t display the correct plate when the RM experiment used an undefined plate.

    • An issue where the “Plate Not Found” message on the Plate Station didn’t display the correct ROCK MAKER plate name after loading an RM experiment with an undefined plate name.

    • An issue where the “LCP Predispense Volume (nl)” dropdown box showed an empty value.

    • An issue where the software couldn’t load a Deep Well plate that had a comma (,) in its RM plate name.

    • An issue where the software didn’t display the LCP plate on the Plate Selection after loading an RMI LCP experiment barcode without the NT8 Plate Definition.

    • An issue where the software became unresponsive after running an LCP experiment with an insufficient sample volume in the syringe.

    • An issue where the Checklist instruction for placing a plate on RMI displayed the plate’s description instead of its name.

    • An issue where the Checklist instruction for Deep Well’s volume only displayed the required volume for the last dispense, despite the previous dispense needing a different volume.

    • An issue where the software still displayed the protein source block selection despite the experiment not needing a Protein Block.

    • An issue where the confirmation message for changing the Protein Block didn’t appear after switching to the Task List tab and then back to the RMI tab. Previously, the RM checklists had been marked, and the experiment was canceled.

    • An issue where the “Missing Protein” error message didn’t appear when attempting to mark the RM checklists. Previously, the Protein Block was attached and detached from the hardware while on the Task List tab.

    • An issue where the software allowed the user to load a barcode with LCP head and PC head tasks simultaneously.

    • An issue where the software couldn’t load an RMI barcode for 24 Well experiments if the LCP and PC were disabled.

    • An issue where the system failed to aspirate from the Deep Well when all the liquid level sensors were turned off.

    • [RMI][LCP] An issue where the attached LV tips collided with other LV tips on the LV Tip Caddy after picking up and the Wash Station after completing the LCP dispensing. This occurred when the LCP experiment used “All Proteins First Then Well” for the Dispense Protocol.

    • [RMI][LCP] An issue where software threw an error when loading an LCP experiment without a pre-dispense cycle that used an LCP plate without a pre-dispense position.

    • [RMI][LCP] An issue where the software displayed a different checklist when loading an LCP RM experiment with an undefined plate type. This occurred after loading the identical LCP RM experiment barcode twice, once with and once without a defined LPC plate.

  • Task List
    • An issue where the “Deep Well Levels Setup” menu didn’t appear after loading a task sample that required Deep Well.

    • An issue where the software would reset the volume of the HV Protein Block after the enclosure was closed.

    • An issue where the software displayed an error message after creating wash and aspirate tasks without a dispense task.

    • An issue where the software displayed an error message when the door was opened and closed after completing the dispense task and proceeding to the next task.

    • [Task List][RMI] An issue where the software allowed the user to run the Task List despite the Protein Block was not physically installed on the hardware. Previously, the Protein Source in the software had been set.

    • [Task List][LCP] An issue where the attached LV tips collided with other LV tips on the LV Tip Caddy after picking up and proceeding to the pre-dispense LCP.

  • An issue where the plate’s icon on the Plate Type Editor shrank after changing the Well or Drop’s Width or Length.
