[NT8 V3 Hardware Only] Adding an Eject LV Tips Sequence for Improved LCP Syringe Calibration
With the introduction of the 24-Well Plate feature for NT8 V3 hardware, a new sequence has been added to optimize the calibration process further. The sequence involves ejecting LV tips before calibrating the LCP Syringe, a crucial step in preventing collision with the Waste Station.
The reason for this extra precaution lies in the design of the Waste Station, which must be modified to accommodate the 24-Well Plate feature. NT8 V3 hardware users can ensure smooth and seamless experimentation without compromising accuracy or safety by ejecting LV tips before LCP Syringe calibration.
Maximizing Dispensing Efficiency with Plate Station 1
Get ready to boost your dispensing efficiency with Art Robbins Intelli-plate 24-4! While the dispensing task may be limited to Plate Station 1 due to travel limitations of the NT8 hardware, this feature is designed to prevent dispensing task failure on drops 1 and 2 when using Plate Stations 2 and 3.
By using Plate Station 1, you can ensure smooth and reliable dispensing without any frustrating delays or errors. While this limitation may seem like a drawback initially, it’s important to note that 24-well plates are typically used only for scale-up purposes, so most users must dispense one plate at a time.
Simplify Your Water Level Tuning Workflow with a Humidifier Control
Are you tired of navigating back and forth between Water Level Calibration and the Humidifier control window just to tune the water level? Now do it all in one place with the new Humidifier button in the Water Level Calibration window.
The new system automatically disables Start Filling, Start Draining, and Set Value buttons when the humidifier is turned on. This means you can rest assured that the reservoir/chamber will always be filled and emptied correctly with no errors or complications.

This improvement helps you figure out how many LV and HV tips are required to conduct your task. The Task List and the RMI have different methods for configuring the total number of the required tips. The number of tips used in each pickup determines the amount of Total Tips Needed on the Task List. Meanwhile, the RMI allows you to configure the number of Total Tips Needed in three different ways via the Change Tips settings:
After Each Plate
When Switching Ingredients
After Every Dispense
Three Different Settings to Inform the Total Tips Needed for Each Experiment on the ROCK MAKER Integration (RMI)
The Total Tips Needed feature is available on the LV Tip Caddy and HV Tip Caddy decks. An error message will appear if there are insufficient tips to complete the task. The tips will need to be refilled before you begin the task.
Note
The tip calculation is performed by the software, not by the actual sensors.
