Starting Up and Shutting Down the TEMPEST Hardware

To power-on TEMPEST and start the software:

1. Connect the TEMPEST to a power outlet using the power cable and to a PC with the USB cable.

2. Find the power switch on the back side of the TEMPEST and turn it on.

3. Double-click the TEMPEST icon to start the software. It will take a few moments to load during initialization of the TEMPEST system. The three indicator boxes on the software’s status bar will turn green when the system is ready.

To close the TEMPEST software and power off the hardware:

1. Ensure that you have saved your work and close the TEMPEST software on your computer.

2. Find the power switch located at the back of the TEMPEST and turn it off.

3. Disconnect the power cable from the power outlet.
