Exporting and Importing Continuous Flow Data

You can save existing calibration data as a CSV file using the Export Continuous Flow Data function. This creates a backup file of your calibrated reagents, which can then be imported onto other TEMPEST systems.

Follow the instructions below to export the CF data in .CSV format.

Prerequisites

• You have calibrated at least one reagent.

To export a Continuous Flow calibration data:

1. In the Continuous Flow Option window, select the Export Continuous Flow Data option, and click Next.

2. The default destination will be opened in the Others folder of your TEMPEST installation location, for example: C:\ProgramData\Formulatrix\Tempest\bin\Data\User\Others.

   • To save your CF calibration data in the default folder, simply type a file name in the File Name field and then click Save.

   • To save the CF calibration data in your preferred folder, select a location of your preference. Then, type a file name in the File Name field and click Save.

     Note: If the location already contains CF data with the same name, you will be prompted to overwrite the existing file. To avoid this, either change the file name or choose another destination folder.

3. You have successfully exported the CF calibration .CSV data to your computer. Click OK.

TEMPEST allows you to copy calibration data from other TEMPEST systems by using the Import Continuous Flow Data feature. To do so, simply select the desired .CSV file from your computer and the calibration data will be added to your TEMPEST database.

Prerequisites

• You have exported CF data of calibrated reagents from your TEMPEST software.

  OR

• You have calibration data in .CSV format from another TEMPEST system database.

To import Continuous Flow calibration data:

1. In the Continuous Flow Option wizard, select the Import Continuous Flow Data option, and click Next.

2. Click the Browse File button in the Import CF Calibration Data window and locate the file you wish to import.

3. Select the appropriate .CSV file and click Open. When the file has been loaded, the available reagent calibration data will be displayed in list form.

4. Choose from the following options.

   • Select the specific reagents you want to import by clicking the checkboxes next to the reagent names.

   • Select the top checkbox to import all listed reagents.

5. Click Import when you’re done.

   Important: If your selected reagents already exist in the Reagent List, you will be prompted to either reselect reagents from the list, overwrite the existing data, or abort the CF data import process. Make sure to check your Reagent List before replacing existing calibration data.

6. You have successfully imported the CF calibration .CSV data to the TEMPEST software. Click OK.
