Adding an Air Gap

Air gap reduces cross contamination risks by separating two types of liquid or more in a multi-aspirate process. You can add an Air Gap task before, after, or between aspirate dispense tasks.

Prerequisites:

 

To add an air gap:

  1. Click the Air Gap button located on the Switch Panel.

  2. Type the desired volume in the text field.

    Tip: Alternatively, you can scroll your mouse up or down or click the up/down arrow button to define the volume.

    Defining the Air Gap Volume

    Important: The maximum volume for the air gap and aspirate is 13 µL.
