Prepare the accessory kit to set up your F.A.S.T. instrument. Make sure you have everything ready and follow the instructions below.
To power on the F.A.S.T. instrument and open the software:
Connect the F.A.S.T. instrument to the power supply.
Connect the power supply to a power outlet. The power button LED will blink when the instrument is plugged into a power source for the first time to indicate that F.A.S.T. is charging its capacitors if they are not fully charged. The power button LED will glow solid red indicating that the capacitors are fully charged and the instrument is ready to use.
Press the Power button.
Note: The LED indicator glows various colors that indicate different instrument statuses. Listed below are the different colors possible on the F.A.S.T. instrument and what each color means:
Blue: F.A.S.T. is initializing. This may take a few seconds.
Green: F.A.S.T. has finished the initialization process and is ready for use.
Deep Blue: F.A.S.T. is busy or running a protocol.
Multi-color: F.A.S.T. is idle.
Red: An error has occurred.
Yellow: F.A.S.T. needs user’s action. For example, when the protocol needs new tips, F.A.S.T. will pause the operation and a warning pop up will show you what to do before you can continue the protocol execution.
Connect the instrument to your PC or laptop using the LAN cable. You can use the USB to LAN adapter if your device doesn’t have a LAN port.
Note: You have connected your PC or laptop to WiFi. Make sure that your PC or laptop is on the same network with the F.A.S.T. instrument.
Turn the PC or laptop on, and open your browser.
Then, type the URL: fa1000xx.local:5002.
Note: xx is the serial number of the instrument. For example, if you are using instrument #15, the URL will be fa100015.local:5002. Remove the .local from the URL in case you cannot connect to the instrument and retry.
Login to your account.
To close the F.A.S.T. software and power off the instrument:
Ensure that you have finished your work.
Close the F.A.S.T. software tab in your browser.
Press the Power button and wait until the LED indicator is off. This may take several seconds.
