Create a new dispense or open an existing one. If you are opening an existing dispense design, scan the plate's barcode, or go to the File menu and select Open Dispense List, select the dispense design, and click Open.
Place the microplate you will dispense to on the FORMULATOR's plate holder.
One by one, scan the barcodes of the non-precious reagent bottles and place them on top of the FORMULATOR. If you are not using ingredient barcode labels, drag the name of the reagent from the Dispense List to the appropriate place on the Inputs grid.
Identify any precious reagents in the dispense list. Right-click these reagents and click Send Selected Reagents to MANTIS. To select multiple reagents, hold down the Ctrl key and click on the reagent's row in the Dispense List table.
Go to the Device menu and select Run. The FORMULATOR will dispense the reagents on your list that you have NOT sent to MANTIS.
When the dispense finishes, take your microplate and place it on the MANTIS's stage.
Place your precious reagent in the MANTIS's input, and set up the MANTIS software to run the dispense. When you're ready, click the Play button 
in the MANTIS software. The MANTIS will complete your plate dispense design. (For additional assistance, see the MANTIS software help files.)
