Welcome to the NT8® Drop Setter Help
Welcome to the help file for the FORMULATRIX NT8, a fast and precise automated nanoliter (nL) dispenser designed to rapidly set sitting drop and hanging drop crystallization experiments. NT8 was developed in collaboration with Vadim Cherezov (TSRI) and the JCIMPT center led by Ray Stevens, and supported by the NIH Common Fund in Structural Biology.
This help file is designed to teach you how to use the NT8 Control Software and hardware. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, don’t hesitate to contact FORMULATRIX support by emailing support@formulatrix.com.
NT8 comes in two hardware versions, V3 and V4 which both are compatible with the latest software version and older.
Not Sure Where to Start?
In general, when you set up experiments with the NT8, you will first set up the hardware and then create the experiment in the software in a series of steps known as a task list. Protein sources are pipetted into the protein block tray just before the task list is executed, to prevent precious sample evaporation. But if you’re not sure where to start, we recommend that you:
