When all of the imaging for a certain plate has been completed, you can then remove the plate from Rock Imager. Multiple plates can be moved at the same time to the load port, from which they may be removed from the system for external storage. In this tutorial, you will learn how to safely remove a plate.
Important: You should never attempt to physically reach inside the Rock Imager 1000 or 182 to remove a plate from anywhere other than the load port.
Select the plate of interest, right-click the plate, point to Move Plate To, and click Load Port Hotel. To select multiple plates at once, press and hold the Ctrl key on your keyboard while selecting the desired plates, before right-clicking.
If you do not know where your plate is inside the imager, search for your plate to locate it.
All plates being moved to the Load Port Hotel will appear in gray. At this point, they will no longer be queued for imaging and you cannot manually initiate imaging until they are in the load port. If the load port is full, the plates will wait in the storage and they will automatically be moved to the load port as slots become available.
To cancel movement to the load port, right click on the greyed out plate and click Cancel Move to Load Port.
Open the load port door. If you are using Rock Imager 1000, the load port shuttle will move towards you. Remove the desired plate(s) from the load port and close the door. If you are using Rock Imager 1000, the load port shuttle automatically retracts.
