Dispense options are available from the Options menu in either Normal or Advanced mode (Tools > Options).
Dispense Tab
Enable auto sort on loading — If you check this option, then when you open a dispense list the FORMULATOR software will reorganize it based on liquid class. More viscous liquid class reagents will be dispensed first, and Normal liquid class reagents will be dispensed last.
Sorting prefers Liquid Class over Stock— You can set reagent preferences in the Stock List. If you check the option to sort liquid class over stock, then the FORMULATOR will sort the dispense list by liquid class first, and stock preference second.
Prime input automatically for recognized ingredient— If you check the box next to this option, the FORMULATOR will automatically prime any reagent once the reagent is recognized. A reagent is considered "recognized" when it is barcode scanned, or if a reagent name is dragged from the dispense list to a bottle in the input grid.
The reagent will be primed through the input but not through the chip. If you opt to enable this option, then bottles are primed on a one-by-one basis, which can be time consuming. Instead, you may prefer to prime reagents after all bottles are in place, or let the FORMULATOR prime the bottles immediately prior to dispensing.
Default Dispense Mode — You can choose either Lower Dead Volume Dispense or Fast Dispense. The lower dead volume prime uses less reagent volume, but takes longer.
