Setting Up Business Units and Zones for Quotes
The quoted price of a product depends in a few aspects:
Product Price: This is the price of the product itself and service, usually quoted for the USA. See: Preparing Products for Quotes.
Zones: Contains elements that are applied on top of the product price, which allows us to account for different shipping costs, traveling costs, region-specific costs, and foreign exchange risk. There are terms and checklist items that are also specific to different zones.
Business Unit: Allows zones to have different zone elements based on market and staffing conditions.
This guide outlines the setup steps needed to make zone-based quoting work as intended. It assumes you have no prior configuration, though in practice, you may already have some in place. You can skip any steps that are already covered in your case.
If this is not all setup, it will result in incorrect quotes being generated, especially in foreign countries.
Define Product Classification
A product’s classification determines how it is organized and linked to the quoting process. This includes assigning a business unit (BU), a product category, a product type, and a product family to ensure the system correctly categorizes it.
To define product classification:
If you don’t find a business unit (BU) suitable for your product, contact tigacrm.sw@formulatrix.com to add it.
Open the Product Category table and add a new category to represent the broader classification of products in TIGA. In this case, the category is Liquid Handling.
Go to the Product Type table and create a new record to group products at a high level.
In the Product Family/Related Tables, add a specific model that falls under the product type.

The rover product family is now created and will be selectable when creating a quote product in the Quote - Products table.
Add Travel Zone
Travel zones define the support travel costs for different countries and their business units. Support managers configure these by adding a new record in the Quote - Travel Zones table.
Note
The LH Support Multiplier and PC Support Travel Multiplier fields adjust the Non-Commissionable Amount (NCA) to reflect the expected travel expenses for support teams based on the product’s assigned business unit and destination country.
Once created, TIGA automatically adds the Quote - Travel Zone record.
The multiplier value will also be used in the Travel Zone Multiplier field in the Quotes table. TIGA applies the correct multiplier based on the country in the quote.
Add Sales Zone
Sales zones define regional pricing adjustments and estimated shipment transit times, ensuring that quotes reflect accurate pricing and shipping expectations. Members of the “Quote Catalog Administrators“ group manage the configuration of these sales zones, creating a new record in the Quote - Sales Zone table. Upon creation, TIGA automatically adds the Quote - Sales Zone record.
Add Country for Sales Zone
For TIGA to automatically apply the correct sales zone to quotes, each country must be associated with a predefined zone. In this step, we will add Vietnam to the Vietnam sales zone.
Prerequisites:
You are a member of the “Quote Catalog Administrators” group.
The sales zone has been added in the Quote - Sales Zone table.
To add a country for the sales zone:
Open the Quote - Sales Zones table and select Vietnam sales zone.
Create a new record in the Countries (Shipping Map)/Related Tables.
Add a New Countries (Shipping Map) Record
Important
Ensure that Countries in TIGA and the eStore are synced. After creating or updating countries in TIGA, update them in the eStore to prevent discrepancies. “Admin eStore Group” will receive an email about every change to re-sync the eStore product.
Post Conditions:
TIGA automatically adds the Countries (Shipping Map) record to the Related Tables of the selected record.
When an account with Vietnam as its country is selected in a quote, the system automatically assigns the Vietnam sales zone and applies its currency and price factor.
Add Shipping Cost
Each sales zone requires specific shipping costs to calculate freight charges accurately. We will now define the shipping cost for Rover in Vietnam.
Prerequisites:
You are a member of the “Quote Catalog Administrators” group.
You have calculated the shipment cost for each product with sales management.
Note
