Protocol: A protocol consists of one or more pipetting tasks that you can create from the Explorer menu. In one protocol, you can add labware and then design an experiment that can consist of the following tasks or combine all of these modes.
Simple Transfer:
Plate Copy: Plate copy tasks enable you to quickly copy your plate by aspirating and dispensing samples in between wells or plates.
Cherry Picking: A task that uses a single pipette to transfer liquid. You can aspirate a sample from well(s) and dispense it to one or several destination well(s).
For more information, see Creating a Simple Transfer Task.
Consolidate Tips: Use the Consolidate Tips feature to optimize your pipetting tips by combining tips from two caddies into one caddy. For more information, see Consolidate Tips.
Pick List: Through this feature, you can perform multiple Simple Transfer tasks using one tip which is suitable for compound management. For more information, see Executing a Pick List Task.
Serial Dilution: The serial dilution task enables you to dilute your samples in up to 11 successive steps. For more information, see Creating a Serial Dilution.
Normalization: Concentration normalization tasks enable you to normalize sample concentrations, by calculating and dispensing the necessary diluent volume for each well to ensure that every well has the same concentration. For more information, see Normalizing Concentration.
Broadcasting: This feature allows you to broadcast your samples from the source well(s) to the destination well(s) in an easy way. The broadcast mode doesn’t require you to design complex steps, such as adding pipetting channels, defining aspirate and dispense volume, as well as adding a task to eject tips. For more information, see Creating a Broadcast Protocol.
Pooling: Opposite from the Broadcast task, the Pooling task gathers samples from multiple wells and dispenses them in one single well. For more information, see Creating a Pooling Protocol.
Pipetting Parameters: Pipetting parameters consist of the liquid handling settings that will be used to aspirate and dispense liquid. See Using the Pipetting Parameters for more information.
Labware: Labware includes microplates with various numbers of well needed for running experiments. If your labware is not listed, create a new labware definition in the Labware Manager menu. See Labware Manager for more information.
