FAQs

Q: What happens if you don’t update the reagent volume in Cellmatic Suite after refilling?

A: The system can’t recognize the reagent volume stored in the system. This could cause the next dispensing procedure to fail, causing scheduled tasks to be delayed. See Installing a Reagent Bottle/Bag in Refrigerator for the guidance.

Q: What happens if the reagents run out before you can refill them and a new task is queued?

A: Dispensing fails if the reagents are out of stock. Additionally, protocols involving dispensing tasks like passaging or media exchange cannot be executed.

Q: Is one trough sufficient for one type of reagent?

A: One trough may suffice for low-throughput assays. However, using two troughs with the same reagents is highly recommended. This allows the system to conduct multiple tasks requiring the same type of reagents simultaneously.

Q: Can you load a plate with freshly seeded cells?

A: Yes, you can. Upon loading, the system transports the plates with freshly seeded cells to the Incubator. During protocol creation, ensure you have set the adhering time for the cells before conducting the first task (e.g., Imaging).

Q: How do you monitor the available stock of labware in Labware Storage? A: You can quickly monitor the labware stock from the Dashboard of the Cellmatic Suite or in detail through the Labware Inventory menu.

Q: What happens if the Imager storage is full?

A: When the Imager storage is full, indicated by a red bar in the Disk Storage section on the Dashboard, the Cellmatic Suite automatically deletes old, unmarked images from the database until the storage bar decreases to the orange level.

Q: What happens if you load microplates in the labware storage slots designed for troughs or tip caddies?

A: The system can still recognize microplates placed in slots meant for troughs or tip caddies, and the microplates can complete their scheduled tasks without any issues. However, it’s recommended to always load microplates in their designated slots to ensure proper alignment and reliable equipment functioning.

Q: Can you replace troughs with other similar containers?

A: You can use other reservoirs and troughs for protocols conducted in Flo i8. However, Formulatrix RX troughs are required for high-throughput protocols performed in Reagent Exchanger.

Q: When do you sterilize Cellmatic?

A: You should sterilize Cellmatic when a contamination issue occurs. For assistance with the sterilization process, please contact cell.support@formulatrix.com.
