The FLO i8 Parts Overview
The FLO i8 features 5 deck positions, of which 3 can be tilted and 2 remain flat and stable. It is also equipped with 8 pipetting channels with intelligent features that support aspirating and dispensing across most standard labware. To streamline operations, the system integrates a delidder that removes plate and reservoir lids, storing them under the deck, and places them back onto the labware when liquid handling tasks are complete.

Washing cells in tilted one-well plates using fresh media (quench treated cells/dislodge cells).
Mixing cells into suspension (repeated aspiration/dispense.
Agitating plates using the motorized deck for faster declumping in 4- and 8-well plates.
Performing gentle, low-volume media exchange.
Media exchanges and passaging of 6-well plates.
Plating cells into assay plates.
Pooling suspended cells from plates to cell reservoirs.
Preparing Cellmatic’s custom Cell Counting Plate for the Imager by:
Mixing trypan blue and cells in suspension in a 96-well deepwell block.
Dispensing the stained cells into counting wells.
FLO i8 Next Level Tips®
FLO i8 utilizes sterilized F1000 Next Level Tips® for accurate and precise pipetting. Each tip features an integrated PCR-Grade filter (tested RNAse-free) and conductive strips on the sides to monitor the liquid level in real-time. F1000 Tips have a volume range of 10-1000 µL.
