Adding Cryoprotectants and Soaking Ingredients¶
When harvesting your crystals, you can add cryoprotectants and soaking ingredients.
Adding Cryoprotectants¶
To add cryoprotectants:
In the Harvesting panel, go to the Cryoprotectant tab. Then, click the Add button
to add a new row.
Cryoprotectant Tab
Complete the fields by entering:
Ingredient name in the Ingredient field.
Ingredient concentration in the Conc. field.
Ingredient concentration unit in the Unit dropdown.
Ingredient pH in the pH field.
Protocol (personal note) in the Protocol field.
If everything is set, click
on the top of the tab.
Use the buttons on the top right corner of the Cryoprotectant tab to assist you.
Add Well Ingredient
to use the crystal’s well ingredients as the cryoprotectant.Edit
to modify a cryoprotectant.Delete
to delete a cryoprotectant(s) from ROCK MAKER.Discard
to cancel changes.
Note
You cannot edit or delete a cryoprotectant if the ingredient(s) is used in the crystal cart.
Buttons in Cryoprotectant Tab
You can then assign the cryoprotectants to your crystal.
Adding Soaking Ingredients¶
To add a soaking ingredient:
In the Harvesting panel, go to the Soaking tab. Then, click the Add button
to add a new row.

Complete the fields by entering:
Ingredient name in the Ingredient field.
Ingredient concentration in the Conc. field.
Ingredient concentration unit in the Unit dropdown next to the Conc. field.
Soaking duration in the Time field.
Duration unit in the Unit dropdown next to the Time field.
OPTIONAL: A note in the Text Info column.
If everything is set, click
on the top of the tab.
Use the buttons on the top right corner of the Soaking tab to assist you.
Edit
to modify a soaking.Delete
to delete a soaking(s) from ROCK MAKER.Discard
to cancel changes.
Note
