Creating an Iterative Screen Optimization (ISO) Experiment

Prerequisites:

  • You have set the ISO (%) values in General general of the Setup menu setup_menu.

  • The experiment you want to optimize has been manually scored using the Default score group.

  • Your experiment contains a custom or screen layer with precipitants.

To create an ISO:

  1. Open an experiment you want to optimize.

  2. Go to Canvas.

  3. On the toolbar, click the Optimize button.

  4. The Optimization Wizard appears. In the Optimize Layer section, select In an Iterative Screen.

    OPTIONAL: Select Substitute Source Stocks with Prepared Ones in the Ingredient section if you want to change the stocks.

    Then, click NEXT.

  5. In the Customize ISO% Values section, click the values in the ISO% column to change them. The default values are set in the General Setup.

  6. Your ISO experiment will be saved in the same folder as your original experiment. A number at the end of the ISO experiment’s name indicates the optimization round. See the example below.

    1 in ISO1 indicates that it is the first optimized experiment. The name for the second optimized experiment will end with ISO2.

  7. Make sure that all drops in your experiment have been scored. If you have unscored drops, you can do one of the following:

    • OPTION 1: Click the box next to Yes, Unscored drops will be treated as “Clear”.

    • OPTION 2: Go back to the Image view, click Score on the toolbar, and go to Score Group. Then, score the drops manually.

  8. Click Optimize. The optimization will take a few moments.
